Thank you all for the support and patience as we are navigating Comprehensive Distance Learning. This is a reminder to please remove distractions for your student during the school day and to please not interact with teachers or other students during a lesson. Continue to email or call teachers outside of the lesson and contact the front office with any issues that you need help with. Thank you Boomer Nation!
For Parents and Guardians:
Although the online instructional environment may seem different, the actual “classroom” itself is not. Parents and guardians are encouraged to support their students side-by-side or in proximity, but just as if they were observing, visiting or volunteering, they would not be interacting with the teacher or other students during the lesson or other instructional time. Please understand that teachers have live instructional time in which they are teaching lessons. If your child has questions, they can use the communication tools (chat, raise a hand, etc.) to interact with the teacher, but once a lesson has started, the teacher will continue to teach according to the schedule.
Please:
- Work with your student as much as possible
- Ask questions and support your student in this challenging educational space
- Communicate with your student’s teachers outside of the live instructional time
- Help minimize the distractions for your students while they are engaged in learning
Please do not:
- Interact with the teacher during the lesson
- Talk to your student during the lesson (if talking to your student is necessary, please mute the mic and turn off the video)
- Communicate with other students during the lesson
