MARTIN FRANK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

5 @ $1,000.00, Students from four Lincoln County High Schools will compete for these scholarships sponsored by Martin Frank Memorial Scholarship Fund. Scholarships may be renewable

Criteria

  • Graduating senior from Lincoln County High Schools.
  • Interested in pursuing a career in: Marine related fields; Engineering; Writhing/journalism

Restrictions

  • Pays after successful completion of one term of post secondary work and registration for a second term.
  • Renewable upon request with a 2.5 GPA or better and documentation

LINCOLN COUNTY BOARD OF REALTORS SCHOLARSHIP

1 @ $5,000.00 and is sponsored by Lincoln County Board of Realtors.

Criteria

  • All Lincoln County High School graduating seniors.
  • 3.0 GPA or better.
  • Evidence of community service.
  • 750 to 1000 word essay about individual citizens’ rights and responsibilities concerning real estate ownership. Required.
  • 300-500 word essay: Topic: How can home ownership influence or affect your life? (required)

2 @ $500.00 to be shared by all high schools in Lincoln County and are sponsored by LCSD Administrators Team.

Criteria

  • Planning to become a teacher, counselor or train for other work with children.

Criteria

  • Planning to attend a trade school, community college or four year institution to prepare for a trade occupation.

LINCOLN COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

1 @ $1,000, sponsored by Lincoln County Bar Association.

Criteria

  • Open to all high schools.
  • Minimum 3.25 GPA, academically challenging course completion.
  • Planning to attend law school.
  • Accepted to a 2 or 4 year college.
  • Essay (500 words or less). “What contributions can I make to society in my practice of law.”

BETTY AND DON GILES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

Dollar amounts and number of scholarships are open and are sponsored by the Betty and Don Giles Memorial Trust.

Criteria

  • Must have spent 5 years in a 4-H dog program..
  • Leadership skills and abilities.
  • Community service activities.
  • Dedication to a 4-H dog program.
  • Open to all LCSD seniors.

Restrictions

  • Pays after a successful completion of a term of post-secondary work.

Application

  • No application is necessary, selection will be made by a 4-H selection committee.
SHARON BUTLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

1 @ $1,000.00 and is sponsored by the Sharon Butler Memorial Trust.

Criteria

  • Open to all high schools, but only to Lincoln County members of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians.

CATHY R. LETHERER MEMORIAL LINCOLN COUNTY MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP

1 @ $ (determined by interest earned) and is shared by all high schools in Lincoln County and is sponsored by Rick Letherer and friends.

Criteria

  • Graduating senior from a Lincoln County high school.
  • Stated intention to maintain or improve their musical ability.
  • Present a quality tape, disc or video recording of some musical performance.
  • Evidence of the selection of a post secondary school selection that may enhance their musical talents.

1 @ $1,000.00 shared by all high schools in Lincoln County and is sponsored by Bay City Cruisers and other Lincoln County citizens.

Criteria

  • Graduating senior from a Lincoln County High School.
  • Commitment to further his/her skills in the mechanical trades (i.e. small engine repair, auto body, auto mechanics and/or diesel and truck mechanics.
  • Goals related to a career in the mechanical trades.

  • Pays after successful completion of a term of post secondary work and registration for a second term, and may be renewable.

Criteria

  • Toledo High School graduate.
  • Resident of Siletz Valley above tidewater.
  • Excelled in social studies during high school.
  • Recommendation of a social studies teacher.

U-DA-MAN SALMON TOURNAMENT SCHOLARSHIP

1 @ $500.00, is available to graduating seniors all LCSD High Schools and is sponsored by U-DA-MAN Salmon Tournament Committee.

Criteria

  • High School GPA of 3.25 or better.
  • Planning on studying Marine Biology/Science.
  • Graduating senior at a Lincoln County School District High School with a record of academically challenging courses.
  • Accepted at a State of Oregon 4-year college or in-state 2-year community college.
  • Evidence of volunteer service to school and/or community or part-time work.
  • Typed and well edited essay of 1000 words or more on the following topic: What is the economic impact of sports fishing on local Lincoln County communities and how can the improved habitat of salmon in local waterways impact local communities.

LINCOLN COUNTY MASTER GARDENER ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Lincoln County Master Gardener Association (LCMGA) is a service organization supporting the Oregon State University (OSU) Extension Service Master Gardener Program and dedicated to educating and supporting Lincoln County residents by providing leadership in the use of effective and environmentally responsible horticultural techniques. The scholarship is intended to finance the student’s higher education expenses. Payment will be made directly to the learning institution in the fall of each year.

1 @ $1000.00 with three year renewal option. Available to graduating seniors of all LCSD High Schools. Sponsored by Lincoln County Master Gardener Association.

Criteria

  • Must be a resident of Lincoln County
  • Must be a graduating senior from a Lincoln County High School, or
  • A student home-schooled in Lincoln County, or
  • A student who graduated from a Lincoln County High School in the last five years of date of application.
  • Must be accepted into an accredited institution of higher learning such as a community college, a college, or university.
  • Must be the student’s first secondary degree.

Application

  • Lincoln County Foundation Scholarship Application Form
  • High School Transcript to include first semester of senior year or, if applicant has graduated, a complete transcript. Resume including: important academic courses and workshops, sports and other activities, honors and awards, work-study programs and internships, community service, employment skills.
  • Two letters of recommendation:
    • One from school personnel
    • One from a member of the community (non-family, non-school)
  • A typed essay of no more than 500 words explaining how your choice of academic pursuits would reflect the purpose of Lincoln County Master Gardener Association: the LCMGA is a service organization supporting the Oregon State University (OSU) Extension Service Master Gardener Program and dedicated to educating and supporting Lincoln County residents by providing leadership in the use of effective and environmentally responsible horticultural techniques.

The scholarship may be funded for three additional years, provided the following conditions are met:

  • Student remains in good standing with the institution
  • A copy of current transcript is submitted prior to funds being released to the school
  • Funds must be used within five years of date of award

If recipient changes majors, LCMBA requires a additional essay on how the new choice of academic pursuits reflects the purpose of LCMGA.

ROSE M GILMONT SCHOLARSHIP FUND

1 @ $5,000 per year ($1,666 per quarter) for FOUR years

Criteria

  • Student should be in top-quartile in academics (students who did not perform well in freshman and sophomore years, but did well last two years should also be considered). Prefer student who does not have a full ride scholarship.
  • Student must attend Oregon State Universtiy or Western Oregon University
  • Take at least 12 credit hours at college each quarter
  • Maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA each year in college
BOB RICHARDSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

A scholarship offered to graduates of Toledo High School to enhance their educational horizons and opportunities, and to make possible post-secondary schooling. A love for Toledo and the generosity of one of its citizens is made tangible with the establishment of the Bob Richardson Memorial Scholarship.
