Over the last two weeks, more than 30 middle and high school students participated in our very first Toledo Summer Learning Program. Focusing on hands-on, project-based learning opportunities, the students created countless AMAZING things! Our Boomers made delicious food, beautiful ceramic pots and bowls, beaded keychains and lanyards, jars of freshly picked blackberry jam and fresh honey, printed shirts and hoodies with their own personalized designs, and even a large Toledo mural that will now sit in our school’s courtyard for all to see. More importantly, they had fun, made memories, and contributed positively to the Boomer community. The Program ended with a well-attended Open House on Friday, August 16th, where friends, family, community members, and even a local State Representative got to see the students’ wonderful work. Shout out to the fantastic Summer staff and students for an outstanding, one-of-a-kind experience! And thank you to everyone who attended the Open House– we appreciate your support!”
